Disaster Recovery

In the aftermath of natural disasters, recovery and resilience efforts are crucial in rebuilding communities. As part of our commitment to using technology for social impact, we partnered with a leading state and local government consulting firm to build public-facing websites and dashboards to provide information and insights about recovery and resilience efforts after one of the largest natural disasters in U.S. history: Hurricane Harvey.

The goal of the project was to provide a centralized hub for residents, businesses, and stakeholders to access information about recovery efforts, including updates on rebuilding progress, ongoing projects, and funding information. Our team used a combination of web-based technologies to build a solution that was accessible, scalable, and easy to use.

The public-facing website served as a single source of truth for recovery information, including updates on infrastructure repair projects, FEMA assistance programs, and community engagement initiatives. The site also featured interactive maps that allowed users to explore recovery progress by location, as well as a news and events section that highlighted community resilience efforts.

In addition to the website, we also developed a set of dashboards that provided insights into recovery progress and funding allocations. The dashboards were designed to be accessible and easy to use for both technical and non-technical users. They allowed stakeholders to visualize recovery progress by location, track funding allocations, and monitor key performance indicators related to recovery efforts.

Overall, the public-facing website and dashboards were instrumental in providing transparency and accountability in recovery and resilience efforts after Hurricane Harvey. The solution provided critical information to residents and stakeholders, helping to facilitate collaboration and coordination among government agencies, non-profits, and community organizations. Our team was proud to be a part of this project, and we believe that technology has a critical role to play in disaster recovery and resilience efforts.
